Windsurfing in the shadow of Port Talbot’s steelworks! Margam Sands is a three mile long secluded beach that is sandy throughout and backed by dunes. W facing and works best in N and NW winds but SW also throws up some good waves. Kenfig Sands, another three mile sandy beach to the S can only be reached foot.
Getting there: From junction 38 of M4 take the small lane opposite the one signposted for Margham Abbey. Go past the old factory and crematorium and cross the level crossing. The beach is a mile further on.
